Wat Tham Klong Pane Ѵӡͧ is the most famous forest monastery in Nong Bua Lamphu. It covers a large area of beautiful and peacefully abundant natural forest with majestic rocks and cliffs. In the forest lies a big cave where a large two-faced drum (Klong Pane) was found. This monastery was once the place where the famous meditationmonk "Luang Pu Kraw Analayo" practiced his meditation until 1983. A museum commemorating the renowned monk has been built and includes a life-sized wax figure of the monk as well as displays of his personal belongings. The monastery is situated 15 kms. off Highway #210 between Nong Bua Lamphu and Udon Thani. |
